The 16th World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2008) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur will be a platform to showcase Malaysia’s capability and capacity as an emerging global hub for information and communications technology (ICT) and gateway into Asia.
WCIT is the flagship event of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), a consortium of 73 international ICT organizations whose members comprise more than 90% of the global IT market.
It’s the largest ever WCIT 2008 event to be held, with more than 2,700 confirmed attendees and delegates, making it the largest gathering in the congress’ 30-year history.
Malaysia is the first Southeast Asian nation to host an event often billed as the Olympics of ICT with its convergence of global leaders in business, government and academia.
Malaysia’s strategic location at the crossroads between east and west makes it an ideal gateway to Asia, offering global businesses “a springboard to the lucrative Asian markets of China, India and Southeast Asia”.
Our heartiest gratitude and utmost appreciation to all who visited our showcase and exhibition kiosk at MDeC Pavilion during the WCIT 2008 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), 19 – 21 May 2008. It has been a great experience and pleasure in meeting all distinguished guests and visitors.
